and state societies, he has served as President of the American Academy of
Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (2006), the worlds largest ENT
organization. Dr. Cannon received a Bachelor of Science degree
majoring in Biological Sciences from Mississippi College. He
completed his medical degree at University Medical Center in Jackson,
Mississippi. After an Internal Medicine Internship and a year of
general surgery resident training, he entered ENT training, finishing his
training at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Cannon
has spoken at local and national meetings, taught instructional courses on
ENT topics and published close to 100 articles related to ENT topics.
He serves as a reviewer for scientific articles in several medical
journals related to ENT.
In addition
to his medical practice Dr. Cannon is active in his local church and
community. He has served as member/president of the Rankin County
School Board, as well as volunteering as a team doctor for high school and
college sports teams.
